We are on the lookout for dedicated professionals to fill the role of Natural Gas Utility Inspectors within the construction sector. These inspectors play a crucial role in overseeing the proper installation of natural gas distribution systems, both poly and steel, in the designated service areas.

Compensation: $32 per hour, with no Per-Diem provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess construction sites and routes prior to the start of projects.
  • Engage with contractors to resolve issues and verify crew qualifications.
  • Track daily job progress and report findings.
  • Make informed decisions regarding pipeline placement on-site.
  • Ensure the adequacy of tie-in points.
  • Inspect welding practices and adherence to fusion standards.
  • Maintain required Operator Qualifications.
  • Coordinate service installations and tie-ins effectively.
  • Accurately complete daily reports and necessary documentation.
  • Uphold safety standards and compliance throughout all operations.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with best management practices in construction.
  • Understanding of municipal paving regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to interpret construction drawings.
  • Experience in the natural gas sector and practical construction knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the natural gas field.
  • Experience with polyethylene piping, fusion techniques, and construction documentation.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and vehicle insurance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Engage in moderate physical activities on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work in active construction environments.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients.
