Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Well Testing Specialist for a local IOC supermajor Oil and Gas client in the Deepwater GoM onsite operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, managing well testing activities, and collaborating with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a strong safety culture across all well testing activities, focusing on inherently safe designs, procedural discipline, and adherence to standards.
  • Manage and work collaboratively with P&A and intervention teams, as well as associated well testing contractors, to develop safe designs and operational procedures.
  • Write and execute coiled tubing clean-out procedures for complex deepwater interventions jobs across various fields, in line with Company global well testing procedures.
  • Act as a mentor to develop and coach less-qualified/experienced engineers.
  • Operational site-based supervision of well testing and related operations as required.
  • Lead and coordinate management of regional resources and activity with direct input from regional and functional management and engineering teams.
  • Review operational failure incidents, analyze root cause effects, and present findings to ensure a positive learning culture.
  • Write technical reports and be computer literate with relevant office and technical software packages.
  • Manage or support Hazard identification, hazard operability studies, well operations reviews, certification, and Engineering Reviews.
  • Integrate service providers and client demands to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Interface with DS6 drillship rig personnel on preparation of SIMOPS operational procedures.
  • Provide onshore logistical and operational support for regional activity.

Qualifications

  • Valid IWCF or IADC Supervisory Level Well Control Certification
  • 12+ years' experience in Well Testing related roles, including familiarity with deepwater coiled tubing operations
  • Display wide range of global experience within the well testing and interventions domain and have specific experience with floating vessels and deepwater operations.
  • Understanding of Process Safety principles and experience of detailed HAZOP studies and other process safety activities.
  • Experience in Project Management and direct supervision of site-based operations.
  • Experience of field operations in deepwater environments.
  • Extensive experience covering design, preparation, and maintenance of relevant surface process, DST, and subsea safety systems used in well testing operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HPHT and Deepwater testing projects.
  • Experience with remote Well Testing operations.
