Job Title: Academic Program Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Academic Program Specialist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of our public health programs, including experiential learning, student development, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate Applied Practice Experiences (APEs) for public health students, including internships, practicums, and public health service hours.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community and governmental organizations to identify new internship opportunities and promote our programs.
  • Provide administrative and academic support to students, including tracking progress, providing clearance for APE and practicum registration, and serving as a liaison between internship sites and the university.
  • Serve as a primary instructor for the Applied Practice Experience and Professionalism courses, including maintaining eLearning sites, updating syllabi, and enforcing university course-related policies.
  • Organize professional development opportunities for students, including the annual Preceptor Fair and virtual preceptor fairs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's degree in Public Health or related field strongly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community and governmental organizations.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, excellent time management and prioritization skills, and proficiency in MS Suite and general computer skills.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $59,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. The University of Florida offers an exceptional benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, state retirement plans, a generous leave program, and tuition assistance.
