**Job Summary**

The University of Florida is seeking a highly skilled Academic Support Specialist to join our team in the School of Teaching and Learning. This dynamic role will serve as the face of our academic office, acting as a liaison between students, faculty, and other university units.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead textbook adoption process for all departmental courses, ensuring a seamless and efficient transition for students and faculty.
  • Manage course evaluation process, providing valuable insights to inform instructional improvement.
  • Assist with building and editing the schedule of courses for the department, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Set up and manage DocuSign process for programs of study and all academic milestone paperwork, promoting a secure and streamlined experience for students and faculty.

**Admissions Support**

Support the admissions process by managing initial email and phone inquiries from prospective students, ensuring timely and accurate responses to their queries. Enter data into admission tracking sheets, maintaining accurate records and facilitating efficient decision-making.

**Student Support**

Provide comprehensive support to students, including record keeping for all current students, monitoring program progress, and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise. Ensure seamless communication with students, faculty, and other university units to resolve any difficulties.

**Front Desk Responsibilities**

Answer the main phone line, transferring calls to the appropriate support person, and maintain a welcoming and organized front desk area, including unlocking and locking hallways, main areas, and bathrooms for STL spaces.

**Other Duties**

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or School Director, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic academic environment.

**Requirements**

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Experience with student admission and graduate records, with a strong understanding of academic policies and procedures.
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office and experience with DocuSign.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

**Estimated Salary**

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
