Phlebotomy Specialist

As a Phlebotomist at Medical City Arlington, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services. Your primary responsibility will be to collect blood and other specimens from patients, accurately labeling and processing them for testing. You will work closely with our laboratory team to ensure that all specimens are handled and transported safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect blood and other specimens from patients using various techniques, including venipuncture and finger sticks.
- Accurately label and process specimens for testing, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
- Transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
- Assist with clerical duties, including answering phone calls and responding to patient inquiries.
- Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure that all specimens are handled and processed correctly.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience or certification through a clinical phlebotomy program.
- Acute care hospital experience preferred.
- Skilled phlebotomy technique and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
