Wine Advisory Consultant - UOVO WINE

Position Overview

As a Wine Advisory Consultant at UOVO WINE, you will serve as the primary expert for all inquiries related to fine wines. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including addressing client questions about wine selections and spearheading innovative initiatives within our Advisory and Home Cellar Auction services. We are in search of a skilled professional with a robust background in inventory management, logistics, shipping, and client relations. Experience in warehousing, including wine retrieval and shipment preparation, is also essential.   • Familiarity with computer systems, particularly Microsoft Office 365 and wine inventory management software

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with temperatures around 55 degrees
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, lifting, and moving cases
  • Occasional climbing of ladders to access products
  • Periods of desk work and computer usage
  • Frequent handling of wine bottles requiring fine motor skills
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly for extended durations

Travel Expectations

This role requires up to 50% monthly travel, which may include local, regional, and national trips, as well as overnight stays to support client needs and Advisory projects.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant wine knowledge and experience
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred:
  • Associate degree or technical/trade certification in a related field
  • Wine certification from recognized organizations
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience with pallet jacks

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client relations promptly, addressing delivery requests, inventory inquiries, and other essential services
  • Conduct wine inventories and audits to assess bottle conditions and document findings accurately
  • Prepare pallets for shipment as necessary
  • Execute client wine pulls as required
  • Engage in Advisory, Home Cellar, and Auction service activities as needed
  • Participate in off-site activities as required
  • Assist with Auction services as necessary
  • Contribute to weekly Advisory meetings
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in designated work areas
  • Collaborate as a team member in meetings and special projects
  • Support import activities as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
