Position Summary:

Kitchen Assistant Job Description

The Kitchen Assistant is a vital member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen facilities. This role involves a range of tasks, including:

  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of hot and cold meals, following established recipes and food safety guidelines.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to ensure a seamless food service operation.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and sanitized, adhering to strict health and safety standards.
  • Dishwashing: Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Supply Management: Receive and store deliveries, as well as manage donations and inventory levels.

This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about providing excellent customer service, we encourage you to apply.

Key Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in a food service or related role.
  • Oregon Food Handler's Card.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, move, push/pull/carry supplies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a non-profit organization.
  • Direct/lived experience or understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic violence, and/or sexual assault.
