Position Overview:

This role entails executing preventive upkeep for all production activities. It also involves providing support or independently managing machine diagnostics and repairs. The individual will be responsible for the repair, servicing, and maintenance of the facility and its equipment, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, HACCP, SQF, and GMP protocols.

Shift Details:

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, with frequent Saturdays.

3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday 10:00 PM - 06:30 AM, with occasional Fridays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address breakdowns and malfunctions on the production floor.
  • Diagnose and rectify equipment issues.
  • Conduct electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic tasks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery in a safe and thorough manner.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Collaborate in a team environment or work independently.
  • Train production staff and fellow mechanics, while being open to learning from others.
  • Adhere to all safety and food safety policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Be available for weekend or overtime work on short notice as required.
  • Assist other departments as necessary.
  • Engage in preparation for plant audits and inspections.
  • Complete other assigned duties and projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand for the majority of the shift.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
  • Ability to comprehend formulas and instructions.
  • Willingness to work in high ambient temperatures.
  • Capacity to perform tasks involving standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and climbing.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in a manufacturing environment, with experience in electrical systems, plumbing, conveyors, motors/gearboxes, and the ability to read schematics and blueprints.
