A prominent organization in the agricultural sector is actively seeking a Controller to oversee their financial operations. The Controller will be responsible for preparing and maintaining comprehensive financial records to monitor the organization's assets, liabilities, profits and losses, tax obligations, and other pertinent financial activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducts general cost accounting and other related tasks for the organization.
- Prepares monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
- Maintains the integrity of the general ledger.
- Processes invoices, establishes new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes monthly financial records.
- Performs monthly bank reconciliations, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from financial institutions.
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; oversees accounts receivable collections.
- Ensures timely payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and verifies that payments are allocated to the correct accounts.
- Assists external auditors by providing necessary account information and documentation for the annual audit.
- Files tax returns with federal, state, and local government entities.
- Manages the procurement and invoicing processes.
- Stays informed about acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, as well as accounting software.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.
Compensation: $75K-$100K base salary, depending on experience.
