Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team at Davis & Floyd Inc in Columbia, SC.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roadway design, with experience in utilizing Microstation and Geopak software. They will be responsible for leading the development of preliminary plans through final construction plans and specifications, in accordance with DOT methodology.

The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. They will also be well-versed in the requirements of the D&F Project Delivery Manual (PDM) and have a comprehensive knowledge of roadway design requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop roadway projects with attention to detail and quality
  • Prepare and review plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Collaborate with engineers, CAD staff, and other disciplines to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
  • Assist in the organization and coordination of project activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory agencies
  • Prepare and present project information and reports

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering (MS degree a plus)
  • Professional Engineer license
  • 4-8 years of experience in roadway design
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in Geopak and Microstation software
