Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Design Engineer to join our team at RK&K. As a key member of our Transportation team, you will be responsible for designing and developing transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, roads, and bridges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of engineering tasks, including concept designs, roadway and highway designs, and geometric layouts.
  • Apply SCDOT and AASHTO design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes.
  • Lead design projects to ensure deliverables are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and project staff.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design and/or transportation/highway engineering.
  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation V8i, GEOPAK/OpenRoads, InRoads, and/or AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Professional Engineering Registration (PE) or the ability to pass within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • In-depth understanding of Highway Design Standards, SCDOT, AASHTO, and other highway design manuals and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
  • Capable of leading transportation design projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment.
