Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Services Administrator to join our team at the University of Iowa's College of Public Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Department of Epidemiology, including fiscal and administrative operations, human resources, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the fiscal and administrative operations of the Department of Epidemiology, including budgeting, financial analysis, and grant management.
  • Provide administrative support to the Departmental Executive Officer (DEO) and faculty, including scheduling, correspondence, and travel arrangements.
  • Oversee the administrative functions of the department, including human resources, facilities management, and information management.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with university and state regulations.
  • Represent the department at university-wide meetings and serve as a liaison to other departments and units.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in administrative services, including budgeting, fiscal analysis, and human resources management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant experience managing multiple funding sources, including state, foundation, and research funds.
  • Considerable knowledge of university policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Reasonable knowledge of facility operations or management.
