Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Procedural Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Penn Medicine. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in the EP/Cath Lab Recovery department.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and report patient data, incorporating organizational competencies while working under the direct supervision of Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses.
  • Prepare exam rooms for provider evaluation of patients, maintaining adequate stock levels of medical supplies and other required items.
  • Perform inventory control methods, ordering medical supplies to ensure ongoing patient care is not compromised.
  • Assist with data collection for nursing history and physical, communicating changes to the RN or CRNP in a timely fashion.
  • Provide patient and family information to the RN or CRNP for coordination of care.
  • Maintain a safe environment and protect the patient from injury by observing the patient who may be at risk for falls, confusion, disorientation, wandering, or suicidal behaviors.
  • Participate in staff meetings and perform periodic quality control on urinalysis and pregnancy tests.
  • Assist the physician or CRNP to perform physical exams and document findings and patient results on patient documents and in the patient's EMR.
  • Assist in evaluating nursing care given by comparing the patient's functional status from day to day and discussing this with the nurse.

Credentials:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Certified Nurse Aid (Required)
  • CNA Certification by the State of Pennsylvania

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Education Specialization: Equivalent Experience
