Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing Assistant to join our Medical Staff Office team at UnityPoint Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Credentialing Specialists and Manager in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of medical staff and allied health professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Update databases and other programs monthly following credentialing actions taken by the Board of Directors
  • Distribute information following monthly credentialing actions to staff
  • Update databases as changes in provider information are received
  • Assist Credentialing Specialists with distribution of reappointment applications, assembling reappointment files and documents, review of applications received, and update of database with information received on the application
  • Support the Credentialing Specialists and Manager
  • Courteously greet and assist members of the public, the medical staff, and other hospital personnel
Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • Healthcare experience, database use, Human Resource or credentialing services experience
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in use of Windows-based computer programs and knowledgeable regarding database use and running reports
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to set priorities and schedule and perform duties on a timely basis
