Job Title: EEG Technician II

Join the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) team as an EEG Technician II in the Clinical Neurophysiology Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of neurological diagnostic testing.

About the Role:

The EEG Technician II will work under the supervision of the EEG Coordinator and MD to record neurophysiologic potentials for the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and conditions involving the nervous system. This role requires a strong understanding of electroencephalography (EEG) principles and techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Record and analyze EEG data to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely patient care
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest EEG techniques and technologies
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives in the Clinical Neurophysiology Department
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology or eligible for National Board Certification
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Ability to obtain EEG certification or CNIM within 2 years of employment or 1 year of board eligibility
