The Carlisle and Cumberland County area boasts a rich historical background. This region is home to an award-winning museum featuring 16 galleries that showcase local history spanning over 250 years. Your Contributions
The Buyer/Planner role encompasses the responsibility for material replenishment and management. This position ensures the availability of materials (utilizing optimal inventory based on Kanban principles) to facilitate timely assembly and delivery to customers. You will collaborate closely with the cell leader on the production floor, managing scheduling and Kanban boards to provide accurate data regarding customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Kanban Boards to procure materials that keep production cells operational.
- Facilitate the daily Stand Up Meeting with cell leaders to review current, late, and future demand, creating actionable plans to meet customer needs while minimizing costs.
- Manage inventory within the Focus Factory, monitoring Kanban and adjusting sizes as necessary.
- Audit the Kanban Process to ensure accuracy, checking for discrepancies such as missing cards or materials.
- Act as a liaison between the production floor and customers, effectively communicating issues and addressing customer demands to maintain punctuality.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives that drive key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Efficiency, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Lean methodologies, comprehensive understanding of Kanban principles, product component knowledge, and assembly processes is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with hourly staff.
- Proficient in high school-level mathematics, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled in using Excel for data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks are essential.
Educational Background
Minimum requirement: High School diploma.
Travel Requirements
1-20% travel may be necessary.
Physical Requirements
This position requires medium work.
