Job Summary

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Construction Management Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and management of construction projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination
    • Assist in the creation and maintenance of project schedules, including defining the critical path and ensuring completion according to contract completion dates and building turnover sequence.
    • Coordinate with project subcontractors, including supervision of work, punch list management, and coordination of weekly meetings.
  • Site Management
    • Assist in the preparation of jobsite utilization plans, including temporary facilities, material, and equipment movement, staging, and site access.
    • Document existing conditions prior to the start of any work at the site.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Ensure that all safety standards are observed at all times, including OSHA, HAZCOM, and other applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations and standards.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work effectively with a team, including tradespeople, inspectors, clients, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Two to three years of construction management experience in a field role.
    • An undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Working knowledge of the construction process, including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc.
    • Ability to work and communicate clearly and effectively with a team.
    • Proficiency in sector-specific software, such as ProCore or BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
    • OSHA 30 is preferred but not required.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
    • Ability to safely navigate a construction project site, including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights.
