Job Overview

As a vital member of the Army National Guard, you will serve as the primary responder to medical emergencies, ensuring the health and safety of both civilians and Soldiers. This role as a Health Care Specialist offers a rewarding opportunity to provide expert medical care in various situations, including natural disasters and combat scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver immediate medical assistance to injured personnel
• Support both outpatient and inpatient care processes
• Educate Soldiers through Combat Lifesaver and First Responder training
• Oversee the medical readiness and management of supplies and equipment

Through rigorous training, you will acquire the expertise needed for a successful civilian career in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, or rehabilitation facilities. Potential career paths include emergency medical technician, medical assistant, medication aide, or physician's assistant. Certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians at the EMT level or higher is also required.

Compensation and Training
Instead of incurring costs for training, you will earn a salary while learning essential skills. The Army National Guard provides a structured training program that includes 10 weeks of Basic Training followed by 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), where you will engage in hands-on patient care experience. The length of AIT varies based on your chosen specialization, with a mix of classroom instruction and field practice.

Requirements
