Certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians at the EMT level or higher is required for this position.
Compensation and Training
Instead of incurring costs for training, you will receive a salary while you learn. In the Army National Guard, you will gain valuable skills while earning a steady income and qualifying for educational assistance.
Training for Health Care Specialists consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training to learn fundamental Soldiering skills, followed by 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which includes hands-on patient care practice. The length of AIT varies based on your chosen specialization, combining classroom instruction with field training.
