The Salvation Army, a globally recognized non-profit organization rooted in faith, is seeking an After School Front Desk Attendant.

Position Overview: Assists in the preparation and distribution of snacks.

Supervises the arrival and departure of children at the facility; provides information and addresses inquiries regarding programs, classes, and scheduled activities; ensures safety during recreational and physical events.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must complete the Safe From Harm training within seven (7) days of employment. Ability to oversee children's activities to guarantee their health and safety. Capability to respond to emergencies in a composed and suitable manner. Familiarity with cleaning practices, methods, and techniques. Proficiency in assisting with the preparation and presentation of snacks and meals. Skills in washing dishes and kitchen appliances. Competence in maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas. Effective communication skills with children and staff.

Mental and Physical Capabilities: Must meet attendance expectations. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Capacity to observe children and youth to ensure their safety. Duties typically involve frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting, with occasional periods of sitting.

Education and Experience Requirements: A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required, along with six months of experience in supervising children preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Must meet attendance expectations. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Capacity to observe children and youth to ensure their safety. Duties typically involve frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting, with occasional periods of sitting. Work is performed in a standard kitchen environment where there may be limited physical discomforts associated with hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers. The role is situated in both indoor and outdoor recreational settings where there may be physical discomforts related to weather changes or environmental factors such as noise, dust, and dirt.
