Position Overview:

The Individualized School Nursing Professional (LPN/LVN) plays a crucial role in delivering direct nursing services within an educational setting, focusing on health promotion, medical oversight, and academic support.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting salary is competitive at $35 per hour. Comprehensive in-house training is provided, covering essential skills such as Trach/Vent care and transitioning from adult to pediatric care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to nursing standards while delivering care under the guidance of a registered nurse.
  • Execute treatments and procedures with expertise and proficiency.
  • Follow physician directives for any invasive procedures and administer medications as per medical orders or parental consent.
  • Participate in health plan meetings and school conferences, assisting in the development of care plans under the supervision of healthcare professionals and parents.
  • Engage in continuing education to meet licensure requirements and participate in in-service training provided by the organization.
  • Promote and protect students' rights and overall well-being through supportive behavior.
  • Comply with organizational and school board policies that impact student health and safety.
  • Report any changes in students' physical or mental health to relevant parties.
  • Identify and report signs of potential abuse or neglect.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment within the school, ensuring proper use of equipment.
  • Organize storage for medical supplies and equipment effectively.
  • Provide individualized education and training to students and their families to foster independence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support academic success and address individual student needs.
  • Document all nursing services accurately in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s).
  • Possession of a current, unrestricted nursing license in the state of practice.
  • Valid CPR and Basic Life Support certifications.

Proven ability in clinical assessments, documentation, and adherence to nursing policies is essential.

Physical Demands:
  • Proficiency in English communication (speaking, writing, reading).

  • Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
