As a key member of our Youth Development department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our day camp program, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of counselors and staff to deliver high-quality programs and services to children and families.
  • Develop and implement daily program plans, ensuring alignment with YMCA standards and goals.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including COVID-19 guidelines.
  • Collaborate with branch staff and external partners to promote program growth and development.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members, families, and staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and research in youth development and program management.
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with school-age children in a group setting, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a day camp setting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, including a criminal record check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check, according to company policy.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
Working Conditions

The Day Camp Site Lead will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent interactions with children, staff, and families. The position requires the ability to work outdoors and indoors, with occasional lifting and carrying of equipment.
