Position Summary

We are in search of a dedicated Thermal Engineer to undertake design, analysis, and testing responsibilities related to Hall-Effect Thrusters, propellant flow control mechanisms, electronic power systems, and microsatellite technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thermal analyses in line with industry standards for various systems, from individual components to complete spacecraft, to support design evolution, validate customer specifications, and ensure operational integrity in thermally challenging space environments.
  • Provide thermal engineering support across multiple projects concurrently.
  • Interpret customer-defined requirements, engage with clients, present analytical findings during design reviews, and compile comprehensive reports for client delivery.
  • Assist in the thermal testing of components and propulsion systems.
  • Align thermal models with empirical test data.
  • Facilitate the approval process for flight hardware intended for client delivery.
  • Contribute to enhancements in processes and operational efficiencies.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams, including program management, design, manufacturing, and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in spacecraft thermal analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 10-25 years of relevant industry experience (compensation commensurate with experience).
  • Extensive proficiency with Thermal Desktop analysis software.
  • In-depth understanding of heat transfer principles and thermodynamics.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proactive learner and self-motivated individual.
  • Work authorization in the United States is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with thermal vacuum testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with space or satellite hardware.
