Position Summary

We are currently in search of a dedicated Thermal Engineer who will take on the responsibility of executing design, analysis, and testing tasks related to Hall-Effect Thrusters, propellant flow control systems, electronic power systems, and microsatellites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thermal analyses in line with industry standards for systems ranging from individual components to complete spacecraft, ensuring design development aligns with customer requirements and functionality in thermally challenging space environments.
  • Provide thermal engineering support across multiple projects concurrently.
  • Interpret customer-specified requirements, engage with clients, present analytical findings during design reviews, and compile comprehensive reports for client delivery.
  • Assist in the thermal testing of components and propulsion systems.
  • Correlate thermal models with empirical test data.
  • Support the approval process for flight hardware destined for clients.
  • Contribute to enhancements in processes and operational efficiencies.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with diverse teams, including program management, design, manufacturing, and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in spacecraft thermal analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 10-25 years of relevant industry experience, with compensation reflective of experience.
  • Extensive proficiency with Thermal Desktop analysis software.
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and thermodynamics.
  • Solid mathematical background, including calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive learner with a self-starting attitude.
  • Work authorization in the United States is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with thermal vacuum testing.
  • Familiarity with space or satellite hardware.
