Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Educational Specialist II to join our team at Baltimore City Public Schools. This role will play a critical part in supporting the planning, development, and implementation of district-sponsored summer programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the evaluation of previous year's summer programming and develop comprehensive summer work plans.
  • Collaborate with schools to develop operation plans for district-run programs, including High School Credit Recovery programs, Apex, and Middle School Academic Recovery programs.
  • Plan and develop district-sponsored school-based summer offerings, ensuring alignment with state and district requirements.
  • Develop and update family-facing materials, including flyers, applications, and website content.
  • Support the hiring of all summer program staff and provide professional learning opportunities for staff participating in summer events.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Maryland State Department of Education Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) with applicable endorsement.
  • Three years of teaching experience, including experience in teaching, managing, and supporting summer programming at the school or district level.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver professional development and knowledge of current curriculum frameworks and best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
