Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may vary based on experience level:

Entry-Level Engineer:

  • Assist in the planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning of water and wastewater treatment projects of varying scales.
  • Conduct data entry and perform analytical tasks.
  • Engage in system modeling, process calculations, and hydraulic assessments to determine facility specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimates and perform permitting and alternatives analysis.
  • Draft technical documents, reports, plans, specifications, and other deliverables.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including reviewing contractor submissions for compliance with project specifications.
  • Participate in fieldwork, including site assessments and pilot testing.
  • Willingness to travel may be necessary.

Professional Engineer to Senior Engineer:

  • Lead the technical aspects of planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning of water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • May take on project management responsibilities for small to medium-sized projects.
  • Supervise field activities, including site visits and oversight of field operations.
  • Mentor and train project staff and junior engineers.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Provide engineering oversight during construction, including compliance reviews and information evaluations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify project opportunities and assist in proposal development.
  • Coordinate efforts with other engineering disciplines and support staff.
  • Participate in field activities, including site assessments and pilot testing.
  • Willingness to travel may be necessary.

Qualifications:

Requirements may vary based on experience level:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • EIT Certification or successful completion of the FE exam, or Professional Engineer registration for higher-level positions.
  • Experience in managing water/wastewater treatment projects, including budget, schedule, and quality oversight for senior roles.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality services within budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to develop innovative solutions for technical challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with clients and project teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Entry-Level Engineer: 0-2 years of experience in water/wastewater project planning, design, or construction.
  • Professional Engineer: 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Mid-Level Engineer: 5-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Senior Engineer: 12+ years of relevant experience.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $190,000 annually, varying based on experience level. This range reflects our good faith belief regarding the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may differ based on various factors, including education, qualifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and organizational needs.
