Position Overview

Gene Juarez Salons & Spas is in search of a dedicated professional who can balance their responsibilities between education and hands-on service. This role encompasses training Apprentices and Artists, delivering exceptional client service, exemplifying our core values, and maintaining the esteemed culture of Gene Juarez. With over five decades of excellence in the beauty industry, we are expanding our presence and looking to build a remarkable team in our latest location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Master and impart the Gene Juarez brand and techniques.
  • Embody and promote the Gene Juarez culture through leadership.
  • Engage in training sessions across various locations, including virtual formats.
  • Oversee the training program for new artists and apprentices at our Bellingham site.
  • Provide services to clients regularly while working behind the chair.

Compensation Details:
Annual earnings for this role can range from $85,000 to $150,000, including commissions, hourly pay, and tips. Initial training will be compensated at $18.50 per hour, transitioning to a hybrid compensation model post-training. Stylists will earn a commission of 38%-49% on services rendered, while trainers will receive hourly pay between $29.40 and $32.55. Additional incentives include tips, retail commissions, and a weekly stipend during training.

Qualifications:

  • Active cosmetology or hair design license in Washington State (instructor license preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of experience in high-end hair services.
  • Proven ability to train and provide constructive feedback.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to attend training sessions as needed.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to working behind the chair.
  • A passion for continuous education and improvement.
  • Ability to customize product recommendations based on client needs.
  • Support salon operations to enhance the guest experience.
