Position Overview

Alderwood Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional care in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently sorts, washes, dries, folds, and presses linens and resident garments.
  • Restocks linen closets and carts for nursing units, ensuring timely returns of linen barrels to the laundry area.
  • Delivers freshly laundered linens and resident clothing to designated rooms.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace.
  • Conducts routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning detergent build-up in washers and lint traps.
  • Identifies and removes stained, torn, or otherwise unacceptable facility linens.
  • Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.

Additional Duties:

  • Completes other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Adheres to the standards outlined in the Company's Code of Business Conduct, policies, and applicable laws.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and write at a level suitable for the role.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, their families, and all organizational levels.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrates patience and politeness in all interactions.
  • Willingness to learn the operation of washing machines, dryers, and related equipment.
  • Understanding of infection control techniques.
