Role Summary

We are in search of a Senior Associate to bolster our Macro Grid Initiative (MGI), a nationwide effort aimed at educating policymakers and the public on the advantages of an enhanced and modernized transmission network that facilitates the deployment of cost-effective clean energy solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a background in electric transmission and/or renewable energy, along with 3-5 years of experience in communications and/or advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of strategic communication initiatives to highlight the necessity for an expanded transmission system to achieve a low-cost clean energy grid.
  • Enhance MGI's social media presence and distribute new reports and analyses.
  • Assist in creating high-quality written content, including talking points, opinion pieces, fact sheets, presentations, public statements, and briefings in collaboration with internal and external experts.
  • Support the dissemination of materials to national and regional clean energy organizations and allied groups.
  • Help track key grant deliverables and outreach efforts to current and prospective MGI supporters and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the growth of support among federal, regional, and state policymakers for a nationally interconnected transmission grid.
  • Collaborate with ACORE programs, communications, membership, sponsorship, and other internal teams to further ACORE's mission and objectives.
  • Assist in preparing content for the ACORE website, annual reports, newsletters, and other external publications in coordination with the communications team.
  • Stay informed about trends in clean energy transmission.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in advocacy, communications, political campaigns, or organizing.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multi-faceted projects under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders and partners.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and the ability to create content that aligns with organizational voice and branding.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
