Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist at Houston Physicians Hospital, you will be responsible for performing x-ray procedures in the operating room, including C-Arm procedures and processing films. You will also participate in preoperative patient assessment, maintain and document equipment in proper calibration, and perform duties of an Orderly in the absence of a designated Orderly.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduled procedures according to physician's preference card.
  • Test and monitor equipment for proper working condition.
  • Accurately comprehend and interpret verbal orders and direction.
  • Document records and other forms accurately adhering to approved policies and procedures.
  • Confirm that all persons in the room are properly shielded before activating x-ray.
  • Communicate information about the patient's status to other persons responsible for care of the patient.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • A.R.R.T. Certification required.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Two years radiology technician experience required.
  • Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, occasional overhead and low reaching.
  • Ability to exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.

Occupational Exposure

Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards, and may encounter radiation hazards.
