Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist at Houston Physicians Hospital, you will be responsible for performing x-ray procedures in the operating room, C-Arm procedures, and processing films. You will participate in preoperative assessments, including x-ray procedures, and maintain equipment in proper calibration. In the absence of a designated Orderly, you will perform duties related to patient care and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities
  1. Complete duties according to approved procedures requiring radiological support.
  2. Assemble necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduled procedures according to physician's preference card.
  3. Test and monitor equipment for proper working condition.
  4. Accurately comprehend and interpret verbal orders and direction.
  5. Document records and other forms accurately, adhering to approved policies and procedures.
  6. Confirm that all persons in the room are properly shielded before activating x-ray.
  7. Communicate information about the patient's status to other persons responsible for care of the patient.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • A.R.R.T. Certification required.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Two years radiology technician experience required.
  • Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, occasional overhead and low reaching.
  • Ability to exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
Occupational Exposure

Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards, and may encounter radiation hazards.
