About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Caregiver Specialist to join our team at Friendship Community Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality support services to our clients in a safe and healthy environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with basic living skills and daily personal tasks, including showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, and financial budgeting.
  • Provide transportation to and from activities and appointments as needed, requiring a valid Arkansas driver's license.
  • Maintain good communication between staff regarding client needs and progress toward their plan of care.
  • Accurately complete all documentation required by FCC, including behavioral reports, incident reports, compliant forms, and progress reports.
  • Foster a positive and respectful relationship with clients and their families, promoting dignity and independence.
  • Participate in the formulation, management, revision, and follow-through of clients' Plans of Care to ensure effective treatment and prioritization of health, safety, and security.
  • Follow proper medication management guidelines and assist in monitoring and documenting these procedures.
  • Organize and implement recreational activities for clients, promoting socialization and enjoyment.
  • Embody good role modeling for clients through appropriate physical appearance and adherence to FCC's dress code and expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, Senior Center Programs, and clients, adhering to our Non-Disclosure Policy and HIPAA procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; two+ years experience working with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation with state minimum liability insurance are required.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions; present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Work Environment:

The work environment is generally moderate, with occasional exposure to stress and pressure. Must be able to pass background checks/drug screens and maintain a clean driving record.
