About the Role:

The primary responsibility of the Kalmbach Nutritional Services (KNS) Ruminant Formulation Nutritionist is to develop and optimize ruminant diets and feeding programs for both KNS and its customers.

In this office-based role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with customers, nutritionists, and sales representatives, providing nutritional support and expertise.

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and a keen interest in how nutrition affects animal growth and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate diets according to nutritionist, sales force, and/or customers' requests.
  • Contribute to the management of ingredient specifications and quality for best-cost formulation, pricing, and sourcing.
  • Assist with forecasting ingredient needs and economic projections for KNS and its customers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Kalmbach's nutritional products and services.
The Right Candidate:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in animal nutrition and feed formulation.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with computers and familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs.
  • Formulation software experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • 2-5 years of experience with the formulation of ruminant diets.
  • Must be detail-oriented and systematic in designing and executing short- and long-term objectives.
  • Previous experience in the livestock, feed, or nutrition industries is preferred but not required.
