Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the New York State Office of Mental Health. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the recovery of individuals with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and injections under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Perform tube feedings, hang IVs, and collect blood samples if certified for venipuncture
  • Provide colostomy care, observe patients, and report changes in their condition
  • Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
  • Obtain specimens for analysis and perform other medical procedures as ordered by a physician
Requirements
  • Must have a license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York
  • Must be certified for venipuncture if required to collect blood samples
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality patient care
