Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Capital District Psychiatric Center. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall well-being of our patients.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care, administer medications, and perform various medical procedures as ordered by a physician. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed by a physician
  • Perform tube feedings, hang IVs, and collect blood samples as certified
  • Provide colostomy care and observe patients for changes in condition
  • Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
  • Obtain specimens for analysis and perform other medical procedures as ordered
  • Prepare and apply simple dressings, bathe and feed patients, and care for patients and their quarters
Requirements:
  • License and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
