The vibrant office in Raleigh, NC, is home to over 200 design professionals, including the largest Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) Healthcare Group in the region.

This team specializes in master-planning and design services for healthcare facilities and campus infrastructure, catering to major healthcare clients in the areas we serve.

Our extensive healthcare portfolio includes major trauma centers, oncology centers, ambulatory facilities, central utility plants, and medical school facilities, among others.

The Raleigh healthcare group comprises subject matter experts who actively participate in and present at significant industry conferences.

In addition to healthcare, our Raleigh office hosts other specialized MEPS design teams that serve higher education, K-12 institutions, state and local government, and federal projects.

As our project backlog continues to expand, we are looking for a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our existing Healthcare department in Raleigh, NC.

Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will take charge of designing mechanical systems for healthcare environments.

Your role will involve collaborating with other mechanical engineers as well as structural, civil, electrical, and various other disciplines to provide comprehensive services to our clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates to fulfill project requirements.
  • Providing technical guidance and quality oversight, including code reviews, for all project work.
  • Offering technical training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Assisting in the establishment and enhancement of standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications.
  • Serving as the Engineer of Record.
  • Delivering immediate technical advice and cost estimates.
  • Coordinating with all involved disciplines, including external consultants.
  • Engaging with code officials and contractors for technical interfaces.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess experience in designing institutional, educational, healthcare, laboratory, and military projects.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer's license, with existing licensure in NC and/or VA preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant technical experience in healthcare system design.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
