Position Overview

The Patient Services Specialist is responsible for managing reception duties, patient registration, insurance verification, chart organization, phone triage, and collection of co-pays within the Medical Oncology department. Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities are essential for addressing patient care and clinic-related issues. A high degree of compassion, sensitivity, and emotional resilience is crucial when working with the Oncology patient demographic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate patient reception and registration processes.
  • Handle insurance authorizations and verify patient coverage.
  • Prepare medical charts and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Conduct telephone triage to assist patients effectively.
  • Collect co-payments and manage financial transactions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution with a focus on Health Care.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a healthcare environment (e.g., physician's office, scheduling).
  • Familiarity with Epic software is preferred.
