About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Hire Point Recruiting. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Management: Manage carrier portals to access and retrieve statements and invoices, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Cash Application Support: Support the processing of cash applications in the management system for both agency-billed and direct-billed premiums.
  • Payment Handling: Handle various payment methods, including wires, checks, and electronic payments, ensuring secure and efficient transactions.
  • Credit Reference Management: Assist in gathering and managing credit reference data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Billing Discrepancy Resolution: Reconcile billing discrepancies and make necessary adjustments for both direct and agency billing.
  • Commission Collection: Collect overdue commissions on direct billing accounts and manage any related billing corrections.
  • Premium Collection: Assist in premium collections for agency billing accounts on a 30/60/90-day cycle.
  • Cancellation Notice Issuance: Issue cancellation notices for overdue premiums on agency billing accounts.
  • Return Premium Retrieval: Retrieve return premiums from carriers and wholesale brokers.
  • Premium Financing Support: Support premium financing processes and assist with the preparation of month-end accounting statements.
  • Email Correspondence: Manage email correspondence and organize file attachments.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Assist in resolving discrepancies with carriers, brokers, and insured clients.
  • Commission Download Support: Support commission downloads into the management system.
  • Carrier Statement Processing: Assist in processing carrier statements and handling payables related to agency billing.
  • Cancellation Notice Distribution: Help distribute cancellation notices and ensure compliance with service fee agreements.
  • Cash Application: Process and apply cash for life and health insurance accounts.
  • Accounts Payable Support: Provide support for accounts payable functions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with management, demonstrating excellent time management and teamwork skills.
  • Technical Skills: Utilize advanced Excel and MS Office skills for efficient task management.
Qualifications:
  • Insurance Agency Experience: Prior experience working within an insurance agency is required.
  • Agency Management Systems: Familiarity with agency management systems such as TAM or EPIC is essential.
  • Accounting and Task Management Skills: Strong accounting and task management skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with the team and management.

Salary Range: $80k - $100k
