Position Overview:

The successful candidate will possess expertise in the Commercial, Multifamily, Educational, and Healthcare construction sectors. This role is crucial for producing accurate cost estimates, nurturing collaborative relationships with stakeholders, and steering projects to align with financial and scheduling objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of project plans, specifications, and requirements.
  • Conduct accurate quantity takeoffs and assess material costs.
  • Create both detailed and conceptual estimates throughout various design phases.
  • Determine labor expenses and requirements for construction equipment.
  • Manage the procurement process to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Evaluate and compare trade bids, ensuring all necessary bid documentation is secured.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assist in post-bid award estimates in conjunction with project managers.
  • Compile subcontractor bid lists and distribute relevant drawings.
  • Actively participate in bid day preparations and initial quote evaluations with the Project Manager.
  • Support and engage in RFP and RFQ processes, demonstrating strong negotiation and presentation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline, complemented by extensive industry experience.
  • Over 10 years of pertinent experience in the construction sector.
  • Proven track record as the lead estimator on at least 10 preconstruction projects, each with budgets exceeding $30M.
  • Able to independently oversee projects ranging from $30M to $60M.
  • Experience leading a preconstruction team, including 2-4 direct reports.
  • Outstanding communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Timberline Estimating, MS Office Suite, and knowledge of CMiC is a plus.
