Position Title: Tenured Faculty Position in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

Department: School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

The State University of New York at Buffalo is actively seeking four tenure-track faculty members at the Associate or Full Professor level to spearhead the establishment of four new divisions within the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. These divisions are designed to enhance disciplinary visibility and foster a robust environment for creativity and productivity, thereby supporting the school in achieving its strategic objectives.

Available Divisional Focus Areas:

  • Pharmaceutical Sciences: Drug Discovery and Design
  • Molecular Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Engineering
  • Pharmacy Practice: Clinical and Translational Therapeutics
  • Outcomes and Practice Advancement

Research Specialties:

Pharmaceutical Sciences: Areas of focus include medicinal and biological chemistry, quantitative chemistry and molecular modeling, target identification, biologically based drug delivery, pharmaco-engineering, materials science, protein engineering, quantitative systems pharmacology, and clinical pharmacology.

Pharmacy Practice: Emphasis on clinical and translational research, with a flexible focus area, as well as health outcomes.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Successful candidates will provide strategic direction and engage faculty and stakeholders in realizing the strategic plan of the School, with an emphasis on advancing research while contributing to the educational mission of the institution. They will serve as the primary representative of their division in all school-related activities and oversee all divisional personnel and financial operations.

Research and Scholarship Responsibilities:

Faculty members are expected to develop and engage in both independent and collaborative scholarly activities within their areas of expertise. Collaborative research is highly encouraged among faculty colleagues within the school and across the university.

Teaching Responsibilities:

Faculty will contribute to one or more of the school's degree programs (PharmD, PhD, MS, or BS) based on their specialization and alignment with course delivery needs.

Service Responsibilities:

Service activities will include participation in departmental, school, and university committees, as agreed upon with the department chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a PhD, PharmD, or equivalent degree with relevant postdoctoral experience and be eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates should demonstrate a track record of research productivity, with preference given to those with actively funded research programs. Evidence of leadership and sustained contributions to pharmacy education and research is essential.
