EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must possess ServSafe certification and hold an Associate Degree from an accredited culinary arts program.
A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline along with three years of proven experience as a Chef is preferred.
Two years of teaching experience in an accredited culinary arts program, certified by the American Culinary Federation or an accredited Secondary Career and Technical Program, is required.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field. A strong background in baking, pastry, and catering is advantageous.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Deliver assigned courses in accordance with institutional policies.
Provide students with a course syllabus at the semester's start and distribute objective sheets for each unit throughout the semester.
Allocate adequate time for student consultations, guidance, and tutoring.
Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance, grades, and other necessary reports.
Follow institutional protocols for recording student attendance and identifying absences promptly.
Engage in the establishment, assessment, and review of Student Learning Outcomes.
Attend faculty, division, and departmental meetings.
Participate in evaluations and performance review discussions with students and faculty.
Comply with reporting requirements of the Workforce, Career and Technical Education division.
Develop a personal and professional growth plan based on evaluation feedback.
Serve on committees as appointed.
Contribute to departmental meetings, goal formulation, execution, and evaluation.
Adhere to college, division, and departmental policies.
Recommend budgetary needs and submit necessary documentation for procurement.
Assist in the selection of textbooks and library resources.
Engage in professional development activities, including participation in associations, presentations, publications, and applied educational research, to enhance personal and professional growth.
Take responsibility for the inventory, care, and maintenance of instructional equipment and supplies.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the appropriate authority.
Stay informed about diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
