Job Summary

This position involves teaching courses in theatre as adjunct faculty at Union University. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and contributing to the growth and development of the theatre program.

About the Role

The theatre major and minor are part of the Communication Arts department. This is a part-time faculty position, and applications are accepted on a continuous basis. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in theatre, including lectures, discussions, and performances
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's goals and objectives
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the theatre program
Requirements

The successful candidate must have a strong background in theatre and a commitment to teaching and learning. Previous higher education teaching experience is strongly desired. The candidate must also be a professing Christian who is active in a local church and enthusiastically supports Union University's Identity, Mission, and Core Values.

Physical Requirements

The work performed by this position is of a general office and classroom nature. The employee is regularly required to communicate professionally, walk from office to classroom, and spend extended periods sitting and standing. The ability to lift and carry files and materials, handle various types of media and equipment, and have adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity is also required.
