Job Title: Chemical Engineer

Actalent is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer to join our team. As a Chemical Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing technical solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interface with customers to understand their needs and develop a scope of work.
  • Develop technical solutions using existing systems to achieve desired customer outcomes.
  • Participate in design validation, including pilot plant equipment and laboratory testing.
  • Design pilot plant test plans, develop processing equipment, and collaborate with pilot plant technicians and chemists to perform system testing.
  • Develop process improvement strategies based on laboratory data.
  • Perform heat and mass balance calculations, hydraulic calculations, and determine optimal equipment for processes.
  • Interpret technical data to create proposals and cost estimates.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including negotiating pricing and quotes with vendors.
  • Prepare material cost estimates for thermal systems.
  • Provide technical support and information to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of P&IDs.
  • Heat and mass balance calculations.
  • High volume liquid throughput.
  • Evaporator experience.
  • Crystallizer experience.
  • Ion exchange.
  • Membrane exchange.
  • Membrane filtration.
  • Experience with turbines, pumps, and flow rates.
Soft Skills:
  • Customer interface.
