Job Title: RN Quality Improvement Specialist

Smyth County Community Hospital is seeking a skilled RN Quality Improvement Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The RN Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients. This role will work closely with department leaders to assess and improve quality within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide education to clinical staff on key measures of quality, including CMS, accreditation, and national initiatives.
  • Design and implement special studies to collect and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and sharing findings with stakeholders.
  • Partner with case management and other clinical support departments to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Review scorecards from facility departments to identify areas for improvement and prioritize efforts.
  • Assist in developing the annual operational plan for quality at the facility and region/state level.
  • Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with key stakeholders, including clinical staff, medical staff, managers, and directors.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three years' experience in a clinical practice setting, with successful management of priorities, multiple projects, and deadlines.
  • Computer and Internet skills, with experience using MS Office products.
  • Clinical chart review and abstraction experience, with database data entry and/or management experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact with all members of the facility team and administrative staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field preferred, with a minimum of an associate's degree required.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • RN licensure required.
Work Requirements:
  • Day shift.
  • No on-call or weekend requirements.
  • No travel required.
