Technical Accounting Supervisor

First Western is seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Accounting department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform in-depth research on technical accounting issues and prepare comprehensive memoranda to ensure accurate accounting presentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including the preparation of supporting schedules and reports.
- Maintain a single source of supporting documentation for efficient review by external auditors and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for research and analysis of complex accounting and regulatory reporting projects.
- Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with emerging accounting guidance, providing US GAAP interpretation and preparing technical memorandums.
- Responsible for accounting policy creation, updates, and review, ensuring accurate application of GAAP.
- Assist with tracking and reporting on all stock compensation plans and related accounting treatment.
- Manage quarterly tax estimates with external third-party tax consultants.
- Ensure timely and accurate accounting for investments, derivatives, leases, reserves, and other complex accounting.
- Lead a small team of direct reports.
- Expert knowledge of Excel, advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, and GreatPlains (Dynamics GP) experience preferred.
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, SEC, and other bank regulatory guidance.
- Strong communications skills and effective time and deadline management skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
- 3-5 years combined experience between public accounting and external reporting for a publicly traded company required.
- 1-3 years financial services industry experience preferred.
- A competitive compensation package, including a pay range of $86,000 - $138,000 per year.
