Position: Office Engineer

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate detailed reports regarding project status, challenges faced, and overall outcomes.
  • Possess a solid understanding of construction materials, methodologies, and processes.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Provide essential technical engineering insights to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Assist in formulating project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery of services and materials.
  • Review and validate engineering drawings, specifications, and related project documentation.
  • Conduct site inspections to oversee project advancement and identify potential concerns.
  • Manage and organize project documentation, files, and records.
  • Prepare and present various reports, including progress updates and financial summaries.
  • Coordinate and monitor project correspondence, including emails and official communications.
  • Support the preparation of project closeout documentation and final reports.
  • Facilitate various meetings, including project updates and progress discussions.
  • Document meeting minutes and track progress for scheduled discussions.
  • Communicate project developments and updates to team members, management, and clients.
  • Oversee project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
  • Assist in the creation of project invoices and payment requests.
  • Coordinate with finance teams to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of project activities, including labor hours, materials utilized, and equipment rented.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience with projects for NYCDDC, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, or MTA is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural/Construction Engineering.
  • Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in an Office Engineer role.
  • A valid driver's license and personal vehicle for site inspections.
  • Water Main Inspection Certificate.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification.
  • ACI certification.
  • 5 years of construction inspection experience, preferably in bridge or roadway projects.
  • Strong technical and analytical capabilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and projects.
