Job Description

We are seeking an Empowerment Specialist to join our team at Starting Point Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation program in Montgomery County. As a Practitioner, you will work one-on-one with individuals to identify their strengths, needs, and barriers in accomplishing their goals. You will empower them to gain skills and resources to reach their goals in areas such as employment, community activities, healthy habits, housing, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Build rapport and effectively engage with individuals
  • Drive to and meet with individuals in homes and community locations
  • Complete comprehensive assessments of strengths, needs, and barriers with each person served
  • Develop, implement, update, and review treatment plans that are recovery-oriented, strengths-based, and person-centered
  • Collaborate with individuals being served regarding the development of strategies for identifying, achieving, and maintaining goals in four key areas: living, learning, working, and socializing
  • Write case review documents and facilitate discussion and review of services during staff meetings
  • Connect individuals to resources and supports in the community
  • Provide information about mental illness, wellness, and living in recovery
  • Account for and be responsible for the disbursement and collection of funds for facility operations and individual's personal needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) preferably in a related field such as psychology, social work, human services
  • Some prior work or internship experience related to mental health services
  • Valid driver's license with 2+ years of driving experience, reliable vehicle, and car insurance
  • Willingness to drive throughout the county during the workday to meet with clients
  • Willingness to transport clients in your vehicle as needed
