Nursing Assistant I/II 18N Hosp Obser Unit Full Time Nights

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing empathic care to our patients, their families, and visitors. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will have frequent face-to-face communication with patients and their visitors to convey information on treatment procedures and visitor hours.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic care and support to patients, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Assist with simple treatments and procedures, such as changing dressings and administering enemas
- Chart and document patient care and behaviors as required
- Take vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration rate
- Assist with daily living activities, such as toileting and grooming
- Nursing Assistant 1: Possession of or ability to acquire necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities during probationary period
- Nursing Assistant 2: One year of satisfactory full-time experience in patient care services under professional supervision
- NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or certification from an approved certified nursing aide training program
- One year of patient care experience and a High School Diploma or GED
