Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant I/II to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing empathic care to our patients, their families, and visitors. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and be responsible for conveying information on treatment procedures and visitor hours to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic patient care services, including bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as feeding, toileting, and ambulation.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration rate.
  • Document patient care and behaviors as required.
  • Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties as related to direct patient care.
Requirements
  • NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or certification from an approved certified nursing aide training program.
  • One year of satisfactory full-time experience in the provision of simple treatment and other patient care services under professional supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of patient care experience.
