Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing empathic care to our patients, their families, and visitors. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and have frequent face-to-face communication with patients and their visitors to convey information on treatment procedures and visitor hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic care and support to patients, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as toileting, grooming, and mobility
  • Chart and document patient care and behaviors as required
  • Take vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration rate
  • Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties as related to direct patient care
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of satisfactory full-time experience in patient care services under professional supervision (for Nursing Assistant II)
  • NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or certification from an approved certified nursing aide training program (preferred)
